How do I apply for a mortgage loan?
The first step in the process of applying for a home loan is a simple one. Just click our link to our online application. This secure online form will have you answer a few short questions to help us get a "snapshot" of your credit history and current credit score.
One of our representatives will then respond to you within one business day with our review of your current ability to buy a new home. It's quick, easy, private, and best of all - FREE!
What if I don’t have a perfect credit history?
One of Main Street’s on-site sales consultants or online application representatives can review your credit history and counsel you in areas of concern. Many prospective homebuyers believe they have a negative credit history only to find out that past credit problems are no problem at all!
If you do need credit help, you can join our Home Buyer’s Club. As a member, our club coordinators will work with you to fix any credit “dings” that may stand between you and your new home.
Do I need a large down payment to purchase a home?
No! In fact, Main Street Homes pioneered the zero total move-in programs in Central Texas! We have many programs that require little or no down payment at all.
We specialize in understanding the needs of first-time homebuyers, and offer many different financing options. Let us help you find a loan program that meets your individual needs!
What types of Financing does your lender offer?
MS Mortgage, our designated lender, offers a variety of financing programs, including conventional, FHA, VA, TX VET and USDA. Our trained personnel can help you determine which type of financing is best for you.
Can I really own a home for less than I’m paying in rent?
Yes, you can! Rental rates often exceed our lowest home payments, even with our zero-down loan programs. In addition to investing in your own home, you will build equity in your home and receive tax benefits from home ownership that keep more money in your pocket.

How do I begin my community search?
You can start by choosing which city you want to live in – Austin, San Antonio, or Bryan/College Station. Choose the community that best meets your needs, based on location, floorplan options, school district, or any other personal preferences.

What do I do once I’ve decided to purchase a Main Street Home?
Your sales counselor will help you identify your floor plan and home site, and direct you in how to make your design decisions and feature selections to personalize your dream home! A purchase agreement is filled out, and you’re off to see your mortgage counselor!
How long will the building process take?
Your sales counselor will provide you with completion estimates based on the stage of construction, weather conditions, and other factors that determine your overall time frame.
